The Development Journey of Zhengzhou Jixiang Abrasives Co., Ltd.
Since 1992, our company has grown through decades of experience, innovation, and continuous improvement, building a strong foundation in the industry.
Like all things, grinding wheels have evolved step by step. But how did they come to be?
As early as the Neolithic Age, humans used natural grinding stones to shape tools such as stone knives, stone axes, bone tools, horn tools, and ivory tools.
In the mid-18th century, the first ceramic grinding tools were made using natural abrasives bonded with clay.
Around 1900, artificial abrasives emerged, leading to the rapid development of grinding wheels and grinding machines. Since then, grinding wheels have become increasingly dominant in the abrasives industry.
The Birth of an Industry Leader
Grinding wheels, often called the “teeth of industry”, are essential to many manufacturing sectors.
Following the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the First Five-Year Plan prioritized industrial development. Thanks to Henan’s rich resources—including coal, coke, bauxite, clay, and limestone—along with its strategic location, Zhengzhou Grinding Wheel Factory was founded in 1953 as China’s second state-planned grinding wheel factory. With the support of East Germany, the factory was officially constructed in 1956, receiving an investment of 1.49 billion yuan. By 1964, it was fully operational as a key enterprise under the Ministry of Machinery Industry.
In 1958, before full-scale production, the factory successfully manufactured rubber and ceramic grinding wheels. In 1961, its “White Dove” grinding wheels and double-sided oilstones were exported for the first time, reaching markets like Cuba.

Jixiang Abrasives: A New Chapter
In 1992, with the reform of national policies, the wave of reform and opening up swept across the mainland. Zheng Lao and several of his friends, relying on the geographical and technological advantages adjacent to Ersha, discussed the establishment of a grinding tool factory and invested in the wave of market economy. At that time, the prototype of Jixiang Grinding Tools was basically established due to a lack of funds and customers.
In 1999, Jixiang Company underwent a comprehensive upgrade and planning of its equipment, personnel, and factory construction, and was officially established that year, marking the establishment of Zhengzhou Jixiang Abrasives and Grinding Tools Co., Ltd.

Used a single head stamping process to form 100 * 6 * 16 corner grinding pieces of epoxy resin, with a daily output of only 300 pieces

Diversified product specifications
At this point, the mechanization level of the equipment has relatively increased, and the output and quality of the products have also been correspondingly improved. At the same time, the specifications of the products have also begun to diversify.
Expansion and Growth
In 2008, under Mr. Zheng Lao’s leadership, annual production surpassed 3,000 tons. However, the 2008 global financial crisis posed new challenges. True to the spirit of resilience and innovation, Mr. Zheng handed over the reins to his son, Zheng Chao’an, who led the company with modern management, advanced production techniques, and a new strategic vision.
